Mary-Sue's current focus lies in playing saxophone in The Quadraphonnes, The Mary Sue Quintet, and Rebirth of the Cool. But since moving to Portland from Eugene in 1990, she has played in the following bands: Synergy, Dub Squad, DK Stewart, Eugene Reggae All Stars, Snow Bud and the Flower People, Chris Newman, Loud Sistah, MST and the A List, Flatland, Paxselin Quartet, Andrew Oliver Sextet, Sound for the Organization of Society, Noah Bernstein Six, Industrial Jazz Group, Soul Vaccination, Patrick Lamb, Ellen Whyte, John Bunzo, The Fun Machine, Portland Jazz Composers Ensemble, Portland Jazz Orchestra, Art Abrams Big Band, Lily Wilde Orchestra, The Let’s Dance Band, The Border Patrol Big Band, Oregon Symphony Pops, Dan Duval Sextet, Rhythm Dogs, Yaazda, Joy Tribe, The Midnight Seven, Esperanza Spalding, Tom Sandall, Jujuba, Caliente, Temptations, Bobby Caldwell, Garcia Birthday Band, Jerry Joseph Band, Debra Arlyn & the Goodness, Redray Frazier, The Next Waltz, Andrew Durkin Group, Billy Shears Orchestra, Tony Starlight’s Orchestra, Pete Peterson’s Sextet, and The Paul Brainard Horns.
