Farnell Newton is a trumpeter and composer who has been living in Portland since graduating from Oberlin College in 2000. He plays regularly with Billy Hart, Pete Krebs, Willy Vlautin, and Ricardo Lemvo, as well as leading his own solo projects including the Farnell Newton Othership Connection, and his youth jazz group, PDX Jazz Project.  Since moving to Portland, he's also been seen sharing the stage with Skerik, Lettuce, Slightly Stoopid, Karl Denson, Galactic, Nigel Hall, Mike Phillips , the DooDooFunk All-Stars, Bootsy Collins, Jill Scott, and an endless array of other artists.
